The Apple Seeds Teaching Farm at Gulley Park in Fayetteville is an initiative which aims to help students “learn, cook, share healthy meals together, and be inspired to do the same in their kitchens.” Apple Seeds features a Teaching Kitchen, several gardens, and an orchard open to visitors where they can participate in gardening activities, learn about food, and even get to enjoy the world’s freshest meal—straight from the garden and self-prepared!

Apple Seeds is currently looking for a new member of their management team who would oversee and expand two educational programs: Farm Lab and Cooking in the Schools. Farm Lab is a program that aims to teach students about healthy eating and nutrition during a hands-on field trip in the gardens. Cooking in the Schools takes garden-fresh cooking classes to elementary and middle schools, making learning about nutrition a fun and memorable experience.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is ready to dive in and get excited about growing the programs offered at Apple Seeds. The Program Manager would be someone who enjoys working with children and has some experience with teaching. In this position, you would be overseeing the existing Apple Seeds programs and looking for ways to improve how they run.

Apple Seeds is also looking for four AmeriCorps VISTA service members to join the initiative and help bring about meaningful change in the way kids see nutrition and healthy eating. Find out more about all of the open positions HERE.
