The 5th annual NWA Gives Event is coming soon. Learn more about this year’s event and the history of the epic day of giving below.

Nonprofit organizations across Benton, Washington, Carroll, Madison, Crawford, Franklin or Sebastian County have signed up to participate in NWA Gives this year. Though the primary goal is to rally donors to give on April 7, donors can start making donations on March 31 that will count toward the event.

Participating organizations can win prizes and incentives, increase awareness of their mission, and attract current and new donors. This year, NWA Gives is partnering with Mighty Cause as its new technology provider. Each nonprofit creates their individual fundraising page, promotes their mission and vision on social media, and receives donations toward their organization. Organizations are encouraged to raise matching funds to encourage others and multiply the impact of each gift.

“We’re thrilled to host this event year after year, and we’re always amazed by how generous our community is,” says Chris Haas, Chairman of the Board at NWA Gives. “Even with the economic uncertainty that has come with the pandemic the past two years, we’ve seen giving continue to pour in. We couldn’t be more grateful. This kind of generosity makes a tremendous difference for the nonprofits in Northwest Arkansas and the people they serve!”

The first regional NWA Gives started in 2018. Since then, NWA Gives has helped raise over $2 million dollars for local nonprofits. The mission is to inspire generosity to meet the needs of Northwest Arkansas. The vision is for NWA to become one of the most generous communities in America. Last year, Benton County made headlines for being ranked the most generous county in America.

“This event is gaining momentum and is catching on as a real tradition in our community,” says Haas. “We ask supporters to help spread the word by drawing a heart on their hand and writing ‘NWA Gives,’ in the middle, to take a picture, and then share it on their social media. It’s a great way to share your participation on social media and get others excited about generosity. We’re hoping that many more will see those hearts this year and be inspired to give to local nonprofits! The result of generosity during NWA Gives has changed lives all across the region.”

NWA Gives is led by a Board of Directors. Current sponsors for the 2022 NWA Gives event include the Walton Family Foundation, First Security Bank, Intercut Productions, 3W Magazine, KUAF, and 90.9 KLRC.
