Community Programs Coordinator

Crystal Bridges is looking to hire a Coordinator for Community Programs. The coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating logistics, and facilitating assigned programs and projects for the Museum’s Community Engagement strategy and department, which prioritizes diverse community participation and inclusive and accessible community programming. The coordinator will possess a good understanding of project coordination and planning to implement a range of community-driven collaborations with our region’s diverse BIPOC communities and individuals, local artists, and under-resourced peoples. Assigned programs and projects include a concentration in Arts and Social Impact that advances partnerships between socially engaged artists and social service agencies; as well as projects for Access and Inclusion programs, public art, neighborhood festivals, youth and family art experiences, discussion programs, community partner events, and art kits. The coordinator works in collaboration with administrators, staff and volunteers at all levels, and community members, so the role requires good public speaking skills, relationship building and cultural competency.

Hark NWA is currently looking for a Community Liaison (Bilingual/Spanish/English) as they continue to connect our community to needed resources. Community Liaisons provide comprehensive needs assessments in order to develop individualized resource plans, provide comprehensive follow up and collect data to improve individual stability and inform ongoing resource development in the community. Since 2017, Hark liaisons have helped thousands of individuals and families with comprehensive, individualized “client plans” using the most extensive map of regional resources ever created—more than 1,000 referrals across 10 social determinants of health and 50 areas of need.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager

The Downtown Springdale Alliance is seeking to hire a DEI Manager to lead community engagement efforts within Hispanic and Marshallese communities to promote inclusion within
Downtown Springdale events and programs. This is a temporary position, requiring a 6-month commitment.

Some duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Devise and execute a strategic plan to increase diverse participation in Downtown Springdale events in
    the areas of increased diverse event attendance; increased representation of diverse musical, culinary,
    and artistic talent; increased diversity of nonprofit and for-profit vendors; and increased online
    engagement with diverse communities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with downtown merchants of diverse backgrounds,
    encouraging participation in downtown events. This will require in-person meetings.
  • Research and catalogue diverse musical, culinary, and artistic talent from throughout the NWA region.
  • Assist events staff in recruiting for downtown events, and providing translations as needed.
  • Engage with the Hispanic and Marshallese communities and provide feedback to events staff on what
    types of experiences these residents would like to have in downtown.

Director of Community Experience

The Director of Community Experience is a senior member of the TheatreSquared leadership team, part of the theatre’s core operations group. The primary task of the Director of Community Experience is to expand the identity of TheatreSquared’s architecturally significant, $31 million new home as a welcoming, always-activated community space. This key staff member will oversee a series of diverse public programs as well as talented management-level staff supervising audience services, events, company management, and the Commons Bar/Café—and will help to answer the question, “How can a theatre be an agent of social change—helping foster a community that is fundamentally more equitable?”

Community Internships

The Tyson Summer Community Internship Program is a partnership between United Way of Northwest Arkansas and Tyson Foods to provide an invaluable opportunity for select college students to gain professional experience while making a positive impact in our community.

The program provides full-time college students an eight-week paid summer internship to assist community organizations and gain experience with diverse social issues. In addition, students will attend 90-minute educational sessions during the program to build business-related skills including leadership, professionalism, critical thinking, collaboration and interpersonal communication.

There are currently 21 open positions seeking interns.
